Thermatrans Sustain GS is a high performance concentrated, multi-component, inhibited Bio-PDO (bio-derived glycol) based heat transfer fluid designed specifically for ground source and air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and biomass systems. It is sustainably sourced, biodegradable and with low toxicity levels and provides an alternative to petroleum derived propylene glycol based heat transfer fluids. In addition Thermatrans Sustain GS shows an improved low temperature viscosity profile making it easier to pump compared to standard propylene glycol based products at sub-zero temperatures.

Thermatrans Sustain GS has been intelligently formulated to ensure longevity of the system, providing excellent freeze protection and higher resistance to degradation, scale, bacterial growth and corrosion whilst maximising heat transfer efficiency, cleaner circuits and long term cost benefits to system maintenance.

Kilfrost K400

K400 anti-freeze lubricant has been developed specifically to ensure the effective operation of pneumatic equipment in the harshest environments.

Quite often water can get into the air feed of pneumatic equipment. In cold weather conditions this water can freeze with the resulting risk of blockage in the air feed.

K400 is designed to be added to the air feed so that it mixes with any water that is created and suppresses the freeze point of that water to levels below what would be experienced in normal operation. This means that the water won’t freeze and the air feed remains fully operational.

Due to its ability to mix with water, the K400 is ideal for water well drilling, as it washes out of the hole with the first rush of water. The K400 is not an additive but is a very high quality extreme pressure synthetic lubricant.

Type I Fluids

Kilfrost Type I fluids are manufactured and qualified to AMS 1424 / ISO 11075 specifications.

Type I fluids are primarily used for de-icing and offer some limited anti-icing holdover protection. Type I fluids are commonly used as part of a two-step de/anti-icing procedure when the final application of a Type II or Type IV fluid provides the required extra protection.

Kilfrost DF Plus

Kilfrost DF Plus is an SAE/ISO Type I de-icing fluid, qualified to AMS 1424 and ISO 11075. Kilfrost DF Plus is primarily used for de-icing purposes but offers some limited anti-icing protection.

Kilfrost DF Sustain

Kilfrost DFSustain is the world’s first bio-derived, fully sustainable aviation de-icing fluid. Developed in partnership with DuPont, Tate and Lyle, Kilfrost DFSustain is an SAE/ISO Type I de-icing fluid, qualified to AMS 1424 and ISO 11075.

Type II Fluids

Kilfrost Type II fluids are manufactured and qualified to AMS 1428 / ISO 11078 specifications.

Type II fluids can be used for de-icing purposes but, unlike Type I fluids, also offer extended anti-icing holdover protection.

Kilfrost Type II fluids can be used heated or unheated, and also diluted depending on the de/anti-icing process required.

Kilfrost ABC-3

Type IV Fluids

TKS

Kilfrost is the 'K' in TKS, having been instrumental in developing the TKS in-flight ice protection system in 1942.Kilfrost's TKS 406B, TKS 80 and TKS R328 are fluids specifically designed for use in association with the TKS in-flight ice protection system on qualified general aviation aircraft.

The TKS system has porous titanium metal structures that form the leading edge of the wing and rear stabiliser. If ice formation is encountered in the cloud layers where moisture is prevalent during flight, the system is employed by the pilot from the cockpit. The TKS fluid is pumped from an on-board reservoir tank and dispensed through the porous leading edges onto the external wing and rear stabiliser surfaces immediately de-icing the aircraft.

TKS 406B

Aircraft In-Flight Ice Protection Fluid

The TKS ice protection system protects aircraft from in-flight icing by pumping chemical through porous metal structures that form the leading edge of the wing. Propellers and tail surfaces can be similarly protected if necessary.

TKS 406B contains a mixture of glycol and alcohol and offers good ice protection capability with a freezing point below -60 degrees Celsius (-76 degrees Fahrenheit).

TKS 406B is designed for use in cold concentrate form (as supplied) and is available in 1, 5, 25 and 215 litre containers. (1 litre bottles available in packs of 10, and 5 litre bottles available in packs of 4)

R328 and TKS 80

TKS In-flight De-icing Fluids

Kilfrost - the 'K' in TKS - developed the concept of in-flight de-icing in the early 1940s. Today the fundamentals of the TKS system have not changed.

The TKS system provides a protective layer of fluid via porous metal structures that form the leading edge of the wing and tail surfaces. The fluid both melts and then prevents the adhesion of ice.

Manufactured to the same exacting standards as Kilfrost's market-leading wing de/anti-icers and used by leading airlines and airports around the world, TKS 80 and R328 have been specifically developed and optimized for use with the TKS system.

Both R328 and TKS 80 offer excellent de-icing performance. TKS 80 meets the demands of those who require an alcohol-free formulation.

WWF Mod3

A dual windscreen wash and de-icer supplied ready to use, originally developed for the Royal Air Force, WWF Mod3 is compatible with aircraft materials and has been independently tested by SMI and BAE Systems.

RDF

Due to its ability to melt frozen deposits without first being heated, RDF is useful in a wide variety of ground-based de-icing applications. RDF is designed for use in cold concentrate form (as supplied) and can be applied using simple backpack sprayer equipment.

FL Solvent

Kilfrost FL Solvent is an alkaline based cleaning fluid which is used to remove residues, such as hardness salts and thickener residues that may have built up over a winter period in the fluid tanks of de-icing vehicles. These residues may be broken down and flushed out of the tanks using a diluted solution of Kilfrost FL Solvent.

The Kilfrost Ice Melt range is based on over 80 years’ de/anti-icing experience in the aviation and rail industry. Significantly less corrosive than rock salt, Ice Melt's clean formulation is fully soluble, leaving no messy residue and is not harmful to humans, animals or vegetation. Kilfrost Ice Melt is available in solid or liquid forms.

Supergrip

Supergrip is a highly effective ice melter which has been specially formulated for the de-icing of public areas including platforms, footbridges, walkways and car parks.

Designed to be used at a rate of around 20g/m2?, Supergrip can be conveniently and easily applied by (gloved) hand or mechanical spreader, making it extremely versatile for all areas of varying sizes and positions. Containing an additive to help provide a non-slip surface, Supergrip not only melts ice swiftly upon application, but is also particularly well-suited to overnight anti-icing protection against freezing fog, enabling the effective preparation of pedestrian areas.

Power Pellets

Kilfrost Power Pellets is a specially formulated formate-based product that offers fast and effective ground de-icing. Power Pellets can also be used as an anti-icer to prevent the onset of ground frost or ice.

Power Pellets is ideal for walkways, car parks, station platforms, bridges, and other surfaces which require fast, effective de-icing without corroding concrete or metal surfaces.

The granular form enables it to be very free flowing and easily spreadable using a mechanical grit spreader or by (gloved) hand; for larger scale application, large motorised spreaders may be used.

Liquid Melt

Kilfrost Liquid Melt offers a highly efficient solution to ground de-icing and is a product which we have developed specifically for the effective removal of frost, ice and snow, particularly in public unmanned areas. Non-flammable and non-toxic, it does not have the corrosive properties found in traditional rock salt and urea, making it a safe and reliable alternative.

Kilfrost Liquid Melt can be used on a range of surfaces, including concrete, bitumen, metal and wood; it is also ideal for use on car parks, walkways, platforms and steps. It can be applied easily, at a rate of around 20g/m2 and enables frozen areas to be melted quickly, even at temperatures as low as -20?C.

Kilfrost Rail is a high-performance monopropylene glycol based de/anti-icing fluid which is applied to electrified third rails during cold weather to prevent ice and other freezing contamination from bonding to the rail.

Kilfrost Rail is also suitable for use on points and switches and is approved for the anti-icing treatment of brake callipers and associated riggings.

Approved by British Rail, Kilfrost BTB is a fluid of choice. Used for over 20 years in the air-braking systems of railway carriages, this synthetic lubricant offers high performance ice-protection.

Kilfrost AGT

Kilfrost AGT is a de/anti-icing fluid that can be easily sprayed on ballast and aggregate and can also be used, outside of the winter season, as a dust suppressant.

As it is mono propylene glycol based, Kilfrost AGT is classified as non-hazardous under REACH or CLP regulations. It is fully biodegradable and non-toxic.

Formulated for use down to -25°C, Kilfrost AGT forms a freeze-proof protective layer keeping the ballast free flowing within the delivery wagons. It can also allow used ballast to be more easily excavated from a frozen track bed.

As a dust suppressant, Kilfrost AGT has humectant characteristics which alter surface tension, and prevents fine particles from being airborne by agglomerating and binding them together. Compared to water, Kilfrost AGT adheres better to the surfaces and, whereas the effect of water disappears upon evaporation, Kilfrost AGT is still active when dried, thus providing longer term dust control.
